There is a long delay in issuing a receipt notice for Adjustment of Status and even some people applied in October is yet to get one. Current USCIS average processing time for Adjustment of Status keeps dragging at a pace of about 18 months and receipts are taking 6-8 weeks longer or more. Usually the receipt notice takes only about 10 days and the trend changed in the last couple of months.
Biometrics appointments Waivers – Many applicants have not received biometrics appointment notices despite filing case months ago. Due to the pandemic closure of USCIS offices, they started waiving biometrics for example Green Card interviews for the majority of cases. Also, they would reuse previously submitted biometrics applications for renewal of your EAD documents. For the time being, I-765 renewal applications are waiving biometrics appointment notice that would speed up the approvals.
